The Story of Facebook

So I went to see The Social Network last night and it was genius. Mark Zuckerberg is a genius. Created Facebook at 19 and became the youngest billionaire in the world by 23. That’s crazy. I was just talking about a 26 y/o guy who’s unemployed. Then again, that’s a different story.

The Social Network is a true story. I think Zuckerberg is highly gifted. Anyone would be eternally grateful to have his brain. Overall, the ย movie was great. The phase, the story were allย pleasant. What’s more, I gotta watch for free ;)

Here is one of the scenes from the movie. Like I said again, it’s a real story. It’s a scene between Eduardo (who is Zuckerberg’s best friend which is also the CFO of Facebook and named Facebook Co-founder) with his then crazy girlfriend, Christy . Yeah the whole movie was about the lawsuit that Zuckerberg had to face after he made Facebook huge. The good guy was Eduardo Saverine all the time, for me.

Christy: Why does you status say say “single” on your Facebook page?
Eduardo Saverin: What?
Christy: Why does your relationship status say “single” on you Facebook page?
Eduardo Saverin: I was single when I set up the page.
Christy: And you just never bothere to change it?
Eduardo Saverin: I don’t know how.
Christy: Do I look stupid to you?
Eduardo Saverin: No. Calm down.
Christy: You’re asking me to believe that the CFO of Facebook doesn’t know how to change his relationship status on Facebook?

From the movie, most people will be leaving the cinema saying that Zuckerberg is a douchebag because he sort of betrayed Eduardo, his best friend. Well some part of it, it’s true. But if you understand deeper, some things had to happen in order for other things to happen.

Just watch it, if you haven’t. It was all in all a fun movie and it’s good to learn how actually Facebook was invented and it’s amazing that now, if Facebook was a country, it would be the 6th largest population.

The movie ended with

You’re not an asshole, Mark. You’re just trying so hard to be. – Marylin Delpy, attorney
